Tankazooka is a single-player platformer where players follow a small tank travelling with its convoy when it rolls onto a landmine, gets blown up and breaks its sprockets. Now, the tank has to travel through different environments to catch up to its convoy, using its barrel gun to shoot and jump forward in a crumbling world being tarnished by war.

History

In March 2023, a group of Swinburne University students began working on their capstone project, Tankazooka. The idea was to make a game reminiscent of 'Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy' and 'Jump King' with a twist. Originally codenamed Ballistite, the game is set around a tank that moves around by shooting at the ground to propel the tank further. Tankazooka features challenging but rewarding platforming sections alongside destructible environments and enemies that block your path. The game was presented at PAX Australia in 2023 and was selected for the Student Showcase at SXSW Sydney.
